What does a Steam trade hold mean for a deposit?
Steam delays trades from accounts that are not protected by the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator. During that hold the items have left the inventory but have not arrived at the site, which looks alarming and is normal. Nothing is lost — the trade completes when the hold expires, and the site credits it then. Enabling the mobile authenticator ahead of time removes the delay for future trades. Sites cannot shorten or waive a hold, because it is enforced by Steam rather than by them, so support asking you to wait is the accurate answer rather than a brush-off.
Can a Team Fortress 2 skin deposit be reversed?
Not by the site. A Steam trade you confirmed is complete, and the receiving platform has no mechanism to hand the item back once its bot holds it — what it can do is credit the value it quoted. That is why the confirmation screen matters more than any support ticket afterwards.
