WAXPEER Review

Waxpeer is a peer-to-peer marketplace rather than a buy-out service. Sellers list their own items at their own prices, buyers purchase from the balance they have topped up, and Waxpeer sits in the middle verifying that the Steam transfer actually happened before releasing the money. That structure is why prices here often undercut the Steam Community Market, and also why selling takes patience.

What does Waxpeer charge?

Waxpeer publishes its commission, which already puts it ahead of most of the category. What it publishes is a range rather than a rate. Section 7 of the Terms of Use states:

The amount of Waxpeer's Commission is set separately for each specific case of exchange of a digital item, and varies from 0 to 20% of the declared value of the relevant digital item.

The same section confirms the commission is withheld from the money received for the deal, so it comes out of the seller's proceeds rather than being added to the buyer's price. It also notes that "other fees, commissions and expenses to be paid by the User may be provided on the Website".

A 0-20% band is a wide one. It is an honest description of how a per-item pricing engine works, but it means you cannot calculate what a sale will net before you list it, and nothing published explains which items sit at the top of the band and which sit at the bottom. Check the figure the interface quotes you on the listing screen and treat the terms as the outer boundary.

The buyer-side cancellation charge deserves a moment. Thirty percent is steep for a change of mind, and the 20/10 split means most of it compensates the seller rather than the platform. Do not buy speculatively here.

How does selling actually work?

You install one of Waxpeer's clients - a browser extension, a desktop application for Windows, macOS or Linux, or the mobile app - select items from your inventory and set your price. When a buyer purchases, you get a notification, you send the trade on Steam, and the system detects the transfer and completes the transaction.

The delivery promise is what determines whether your listing sells. Waxpeer's marketplace filters let buyers screen by delivery time - instant, 5 minutes or 12 hours - so a slow seller is filtered out of the fastest searches. A feature called Prime Time, added in March 2026, lets you nominate the hours you are usually online: during those hours the delivery promise drops to 1-5 minutes and the system auto-sells for you, and outside them the standard window is described as usually up to 12 hours.

Trade locks apply on top of all this. The marketplace filter offers a 0-8 day trade hold range, and since Valve's Trade Protection update in July 2025 the platform shows an "on hold" portion of your balance with a day-by-day release schedule while the 7-day lock runs.

How do you get money out?

Section 8 of the Terms of Use sets three conditions before a withdrawal is possible:

• You received the net positive value from the exchange of digital items
• You have successfully passed the AML and KYC procedure
• You have provided your own valid, accepted payment method

"Your own" is the operative phrase - a third party's card or account will not do. Waxpeer also reserves the right to set daily withdrawal limits for security and anti-money-laundering reasons.

On timing, the terms say withdrawals are usually processed within 24 hours on a business day, although depending on the payment method or a particular bank it may take up to 3 working days. In March 2026 Waxpeer added two options: PayPal, described as available in a large number of countries, and a direct Steam balance withdrawal at 0%, described as supported in selected regions. Both appear automatically when your account and location qualify, which means neither is guaranteed for you until you check the withdraw menu.

No minimum withdrawal amount is published anywhere on the site, which is the one gap in an otherwise reasonable disclosure.

Who operates Waxpeer and under what law?

The Terms of Use, last updated 11 November 2022, name Peer Software Limited, with a legal address at Trust Company Complex, Ajeltake Road, Ajeltake Island, Majuro, Republic of the Marshall Islands MH 96960. Governing law is Hong Kong. Users must be 18 or over.

Marshall Islands incorporation with a Hong Kong governing-law clause is a common arrangement in this market and it is not evidence of bad faith, but it does put a practical distance between a European or British user and any legal remedy. Terms that have not been updated since 2022, on a platform that shipped a new withdrawal system in 2026, are also worth noting.

Is Waxpeer legit?

The site answers its own question with "Absolutely!" and points at its Trustpilot rating and social channels, which is what every site in this category does. What we can verify independently is narrower and more useful: the marketplace is live and populated, the commission is disclosed as a range in a dated terms document, the cancellation split is published with numbers, the operator is named with a registered address, and KYC gates the cash-out.

That is a reasonable evidence base. It is not the same as a guarantee, and nothing here should be read as one. Waxpeer publishes no founding date on its own site, so treat any "operating since" figure you see quoted elsewhere as unsourced. Buy and sell what you can afford to lose, verify the trade offer comes from the account the site tells you it will, and keep your Steam Guard mobile authenticator active.

Who should use Waxpeer?

It suits a patient seller with liquid items who wants a better price than an instant buy-out will give and does not mind waiting for a buyer, and it suits a buyer hunting below Steam market prices who is confident enough not to need a cancellation. Fifteen language versions and native applications for all three desktop platforms make it unusually accessible.

It suits anyone who needs cash today badly. Peer-to-peer means no sale until someone wants your item, the commission you will pay is a range rather than a number, and there is a real cost to changing your mind mid-purchase. If certainty matters more than price, an instant-sell site will serve you better even though you will net less.
